I think this will be a unique way to serve the community. What have you learned so far? Is this in some way tied to one of your learning standards you highlighted in your reflection? Hmm. Also, I'm looking for a dog to adopt so I might enlist your help.

- What is the Cedar Valley Humane society all about? Who are they?
- What events do they sponsor?
- How often should I volunteer?
- What types of things will I be doing?
- How can I spread the word? Or what else should I do along with the volunteering to make my project more unique?

Week 1 2/2

                For my 20-time project I will be volunteering at the Cedar Valley Humane Society. I came to this idea mainly through some friends that have been volunteering there. I also have been wanting to volunteer somewhere for some time now. On this idea I had a lot of positive feedback and it seems like something that I could stick with for a very long time. I will most likely document my time at the humane society through video or pictures and I will also raise awareness about it. My next step on moving forward is sending an on-line application. I will need to do that ASAP so I have enough time to get started. I know they will be at few events coming up in Cedar Rapids so I will need to get on that. The fact that two of my friends have been volunteering at this place makes this a bit easier because I will not be doing it completely alone. It’s better to know people going into it so you don’t feel so on your own. I am sure I will meet tons of people though. So I am going to volunteer soon and I will have to figure out when the next orientation is. I also want to go on the website and get a better understanding of what this place is about.
